Harman Kardon unveils the Bridge II iPod docking station

Section: iPod + iTunes, iPod Accessories, Docks & Speakers, iPodHarman Kardon has announced the second iteration of its popular iPod docking station, The Bridge II. This sleek and handsome looking docking station looks beautiful with the iPod on it. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg, because what makes the The Bridge II a stunning iPod accessory is its ability to connect our favorite media player to a Harman Kardon The Bridge-ready audio/video component. It even lets us use the remote control to navigate through the iPod’s menu and select and play audio and video content. The docking station also connects to the Harman Kardon DMC 1000 digital media center, the AVR 354 7.1-channel audio/video receiver and the HK 3490 stereo receiver. Don’t get too confuse about this product codes, as they are just some of Harman Kardon’s home entertainment products. In addition, the Bridge II also features an on-screen menu display, remote control operation and charging. This uber cool iPod docking station will be available sometime this summer and will sell for $129 and would even include an AVR 354 receiver. And yes, it also with the iPhone and its got the “made for iPod” mark. Read [Business Wire] Product [Harman Kardon] Full Story » | Written by Arnold Zafra for Appletell. | Comment on this Article »

Sony intros iPod-friendly S-AIRPLAY multi-room audio system

You know how it goes with Sony -- proprietary just seems to rule the roost. Thankfully, the outfit is at least recognizing a trend in the market by trotting out an iPod-friendly version of its S-AIR wireless audio technology. The new S-AIRPLAY system (formally known as AIR-SA20PK) comes with one iPod docking station and a pair of S-AIR wireless speakers, though there is an AM / FM tuner built in should your stored jams get stale. Sony suggests that music can be beamed some 164-feet away from the dock sans cabling, and so long as your S-AIR speaker is plugged into a power outlet (and within the aforementioned range), it'll pick up the signal and start talkin'. Look for the kit to land next month for around $400, while additional S-AIR wireless speakers will set you back $130 apiece. Full release after the break.Continue reading Sony intros iPod-friendly S-AIRPLAY multi-room audio systemPermalink | Email this | Comments

Harman Kardon intros The Bridge II iPod / iPhone docking station

Almost three years after The Bridge was unveiled, the unit's successor has finally emerged. Harman Kardon chose today to announce the simplistically named The Bridge II, which effectively connects compatible iPods and the iPhone to any H/K The Bridge-ready component. Once connected, you'll find obligatory audio / video playback through your home entertainment system as well as on-screen iPod menus, remote control operation and charging. Folks looking for the standalone unit can acquire one this summer for $129, though it will be bundled right in with the AVR 354 receiver.Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments
