Apple rolls out iDVD 7.0.2

Quicktime was updated to Quicktime 7.5 and iMovie has been updated to iMovie 7.1.2. Following close behind was an update to iDVD ‘08, which has been updated to iDVD 7.0.2. The download is 20.27MB. Logging onto Apple’s support page, you’ll find that the update “fixes general compatibility issues, improves overall stability, and addresses a number of other minor issues.” However, if you are searching for additional information about the update, Apple isn’t talking about it. Every time I've used iDVD '08 and reached the point of checking the Project Info pane's Encoding options, they never make complete sense, even after searching the web for answers. I'm in the process of transferring my Laserdiscs to DVDs and have now built up enough experience that I think I've figured this all out. There is the quality of the rendered video to be burned on the DVD, which is really what is important. Apple to introduce dedicated movie chips?

One notable rumor has to do with possible changes to the inner workings of certain Macintosh Laptops and Desktops. For a long time, Apple has been regarded as the company to go to if your computing needs fall in a more creative range than what is offered with a PC. At the top of that list for creative computing needs is movie making. With Apple’s many applications just for this (iMovie, iDVD, Final Cut, Shake), Apple has taken out (most of) the guesswork when it comes to putting your clips into a polished home movie.
